History

        1945   Korean Electronic & Communication Society (KECS) was founded.
        1963   KECS changed its name to ¡®Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea (IEEK).¡¯
        1965   Changed its English name to ¡®Korea Institute of Electronics Engineers (KIEE)¡¯ with Korean name unchanged.
        1969   Granted the first IEEK Awards.
        1983   Signed a MOU of cooperation with the IEICE of Japan.
        1987   Changed its English name to ¡®Korea Institute of Telematics and Electronics (KITE)¡¯ with Korean name unchanged.
        1990   Granted the first Haedong Awards.
        1996   Celebrated its fiftieth anniversary.
        1999   Signed a MOU of cooperation with the IEEE of U.S.A.
        1999   Changed its English name back to ¡®IEEK¡¯ with Korean name unchanged. Launched internet service with www.ieek.or.kr.
        2006   Granted the first IT Young Engineer Award jointly with IEEE.
        2009   Signed a MOU of cooperation with the CIE of China.
