Outline of IEEK

    The IEEK is an oldest and the most representative academic organization in Korea, celebrating its sixty-third anniversary in 2009. It currently counts around thirty thousand among its registered members.
The IEEK organizes and conducts various activities designed to promote the exchange and propagation of academic information and technological advancement in the fields of electronics, information, and communications.

      Established     -   November 26, 1946
                   
      Number of Membership     -   Individual members: about thirty thousand
              -   Cooperate members: about two hundred sixty including ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute), Hyundai Motor, KETI (Korea Electronics Technology Institute), KT, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics and SK Telecom
                   
      Major Activities     -   Publishing magazines and journals in Korean and English
              -   Holding International and domestic conferences, workshops,and seminars
              -   Conducting international coordination activities
                   
      Awards     -   IEEK Awards
              -   Haedong Awards, jointly with Haedong Science Foundation
              -   IT Young Engineer Award, jointly with IEEE
